Versions

Anyone purchasing and downloading product from VizPub website automatically gets the newest version. The version number is printed on the first page of rules.

v1.0: 17·Nov·2006

Original version distributed at PHILCon'06.

v1.1: 21·Nov·2006

Incremental patch that cleans up a number of typos, makes some clarifications in the text, generally makes it a little easier to read, and adds two important rules, one a limit on the number of maneuver failures in a row; the other a reduction in effectiveness for certain Pt. Def. batteries in exchange for taking no damage form interdiction results v. the attacker, i.e. the Pt. Def. Battery itself.
  • A Maneuver Failure limit - see the Maneuver rules; also new Maneuvering markers have been added to facilitate this
  • Reduction of interdiction effectiveness of point defense batteries of non-target ships in a squadron. In exchange for this reduced effectiveness, such batteries do NOT take damage when interdicting MSL, LAC, ESC or BRD Strikes; only the TARGET ship's PT. DEF. batteries take damage when interdicting. See the Strike Procedures By Type for MSL, LAC, ESC and BRD Strikes.
  • There was a misprint on the Dralance: it only has a LAC Capacity of 5 so the number of onboard LAC points should be 5, not 10 (the "o" value in the LAC section of the log). The blank ship logs have been corrected.
  • All scenarios have been re-edited for typos, all the Dralance logs have been corrected, and the missile loads have been reduced if a scenario calls for it on the Tables of Organization.
  • The PT. DEF. OUT markers have had the correct subtext of "Remove in Logistics Phase" placed on them.
  • The hi-res art for Lock-On and Sensor Ghost markers has been correctly linked.
  • The Damage tables have been corrected: on the M row for the LAC Damage table and the ESC damage an old version of the table was left in, which left OUT the Scattered results.
  • Scenario S2 Raid on Corvus Cluster: the Special Rule was left out. The ship crew roll for the first Procyonese element attempting entry from tachspace is automatically successful ( they still have to make the safety roll). The Procyonese player may choose which element is first).
  • There seems to have been a festival of mislinked files to old art: the Dralance, Orton and Reaper class ships all had the old terminology for missiles (which was ASM = Anti-ship missile). Only a cosmetic change, the actual values and display on the ship logs is identical, but the correction answers the "What is an ASM?" question I got at Philcon. :-)
  • Part of the festival of mislinked art was the MOVE TILES. For the record the altitude lines are supposed to be 3/4" from each edge all the way around. The old set had them correct in one direction and an inch deep in the other. They still work (within 1/4" accuracy of course) but its better to have the correct ones! :-D
  • And lastly, the PT. DF. OUT markers had the old (and misspelled!) version linked. They have been corrected.

v2.0: 26·Nov·2006

Merges v1.1 into main product.

v2.1: 8·June·2007

  • Corrected typos found post-release
  • Corrected some table entries and clarified some charts and table result explanations
  • Corrected some image references; corrected colors on some rules images and of cover on hardcopy versions
  • Added indication of hardcopy Edition and Version on cover (Regular or Deluxe rulebook, Version 2.1)
  • Included post-release scenarios 6 and 7 in downloadable and hardcopy versions
  • Added page numbers to downloadable version and reorganized folders to correspond to Deluxe hardcopy page numbers
  • Final page count on Regular hardcopy is 104; final page count on Deluxe and Doanload versions is 257.
